Construction Academy Modular Home

Fergus High School in the 2007-2008 school year was able to initiate a new program for our students with the help of Cleo Sutton of Montana BUILT and a Dept. of Labor grant. The Central Montana Construction Academy is a joint effort of the Central Montana Education Center and several of the smaller Central Montana Schools. 

The primary goal of the academy is to provide area secondary and adult education students with an opportunity to learn home construction skills and be certified and prepared to obtain a position with a contractor directly out of the program.  The secondary goal is the creation and sale of a modular home during the course of the school year.  Other student project created will include storage sheds, garages and other projects as time will allow. 

Students are expected to have prerequisite skills prior to coming into the academy.  Those skills may come from either the Ag. Mechanics courses or from our Industrial Tech. coursework.

Ron Peevey

The lead instructor is Mr. Ron Peevey who is a local contractor from Hobson.  He brings over 40 years of contractor business experience to the academy and has done an excellent job of making our program successful.  Loren Drivdahl is also a part of the FHS team in the academy.
