Accreditation

Fergus High School has been associated with the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges for over 80 years and is a strong believer in the concept of regional accreditation.  Over the course of those 80 plus years we have whole heartedly participated in all accreditation, self-improvement, and evaluation programs to maintain and strengthen our education institution.

FHS School Improvement Process

In partial fulfillment of the requirements to be accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, Fergus High School voluntarily  undergoes a comprehensive evaluation as part of its school improvement. The evaluation is structured around the latest model of the National Study of School Evaluation's model of  School Improvement: Focusing on Student Performance.

As a part of the five-year evaluation program, the staff at Fergus have been taking an in-depth look at the curriculum and activities. The intent is to make improvements where necessary and to continue doing the things that have demonstrated success in the past. All aspects of our program will be examined thoroughly in four different phases: 1) Profiling, Belief’s, Mission Statement, and Desired Learner Results; 2) Assessment and Alignment; 3) Judgments and Interventions; and 4) Implementation and Reporting. Basically this simply means where are we right now, where do we want to go, and how do we know when we get there.

This year we are working on Phase Three. As a part of the process, we will be continue to improve our profile from recommendations that have been made from a previous visitation team from the state Northwest Association Committee.
