Hello everyone and welcome!! We are missing you all at the high school!
I will be available from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each school day via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, I will be working with school/library materials, working with my classes, and working with staff every day. Information will continually be updated below for the FHS Library, our online library, student resources, and for the classes I teach. I look forward to staying in touch electronically!
Below are the links for students for my Media Arts Class and the FHS Library Website.
Media Arts Students - Welcome to online learning! There are Broadcast Journalism books for you to check out at the FHS Office. We will also be doing online digital projects. If you need to check out a Chromebook from the FHS Office, those are available as well. If you are unable to get a book or Chromebook, please let me know and we will work together to make sure those get to you as needed. You can always email me at my school email (above) or we can do a video conference during school hours as well (please schedule with me as needed).
Our online class will start on Monday, March 23. Please check the Media Arts Google Classroom daily for communication, assignment information, announcements, and feedback. I look forward to meeting with you online! We are going to learn some new and wonderful things through this time together!
FHS Library - Our FHS Library Website has many helpful online resources. A few of these resources are listed below, however, there are many more on the site. *Students - remember you have to be logged in to your Google account (gmail or Google Drive) to use our Library Website as it is part of our Google School account.
Databases: We currently subscribe to 10 online databases from companies such as GALE, ABC-CLIO, and Country Reports. The databases are: General One File, Academic One File, Opposing Viewpoints, Science in Context, US History in Context, World History in Context, Info Trac Newsstand, Biographies, American Indian Experience, and Country Reports. There are thousands of articles from magazines, journals, and newspapers in these databases, as well as informational videos and photos to support your learning online. The login for these databases is located on the FHS Library Website. You can listen and watch a tutorial on the use of these databases on the Fergus High School Databases Tutorial. *Students - remember you have to be logged in to your Google account (gmail or Google Drive) to use our Library Website as is part of our Google School account.
Ebooks & Audio Books: We subscribe to the Montana Schools Shared Digital Library for the state. Students can login and have access to hundreds of ebooks and audio books. The books are available to check out, just like a physical library, just online. Books can be checked out for 13 days, however, if you finish a book, please return it so other students around the state can check it out as well. During this time of distance learning, the state has added even more books to the collection, so take advantage of this great resource and enjoy reading! The directions for the student login are on the FHS Library Website under Online MT Schools Library. There is also a Online MT Schools Library Tutorial available to learn how to use this online collection of books. *Students - remember you have to be logged in to your Google account (gmail or Google Drive) to use our Library Website as is part of our Google School account.
